Ingredients
Mango sauce
- 3/4 cup (140 g) fresh mango, chopped
(about 1 large mango) - 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) lime juice
- 1/4 tsp curry powder
Burgers
- 1 small red onion, cut into thin rounds
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 4 brioche hamburger buns
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) plain yogurt
- 4 leaves curly lettuce, torn
- 1/4 cup (10 g) mint leaves, torn
Preparation
Mango sauce
- In a personal blender or small food processor, purée all of the ingredients until smooth. Set aside (see note).
Burgers
- Preheat the grill, setting the burners to high. Oil the grate.
- In a bowl, combine the onion, vinegar and sugar. Let marinate while you prepare the burgers, stirring a few times. Drain.
- In a second bowl, using your hands, combine the beef and garam masala. Season generously with salt and pepper. Shape into 4 patties. Place on a plate and coat with oil.
- Grill the patties for 4 minutes on each side or until cooked through. Set aside on another plate. Grill the hamburger buns.
- Cover the bun bottoms with the yogurt. Top with the lettuce, mint and burger patties. Garnish with the mango sauce and marinated onions. Close with the bun tops.
Note from Ricardo:
